I am an unabashed lover of America - true red, white and blue, through and through. Maybe it has to do with my mom and dad teaching me the values on which America, from its founding, stands. Maybe my travels abroad give me a sense of appreciation for my country. Maybe it has to do with my increased realization of the good America does in this world. For whatever the reason, I am proud of my country and thankful for it.

Carriers such as GEICO, Progressive, Allstate and others are playing to the belief that insurance is all about the visible premium – the “price.” But is it the price or the cost of protection the insured needs to calculate? Insureds must understand – or be taught – that the premium (price) is only part of their “Total Cost of Risk.”
