Insurance Services Office (ISO) created the 'standard' Commercial General Liability (CGL) form in 1986. However, the form was created before the Internet and explosion of what is now referred to as 'Data Breach' losses. In fact, it has only been since 2000 that the forms have been amended to exclude coverage for almost everything dealing with cyber exposures. These changes occurred over several years, therefore it is imperative that anyone dealing with commercial general liability understand exactly which Edition Date of the CGL is being used and which endorsements are attached. For example, the 2000 CGL is different from the 2001, which itself is different than the 2004; and the 2004 form is different from the 2013. To complicate matters, endorsements were added to make them all different in 2014 and the BOP revised in 2015! Confused yet? Better attend the webinar.

Attendees should expect to get the answers to these items and much more during this webinar:

  • Quick history of ISO CGL and when Data Breach exclusions were added
  • How do you know if it's ISO?
  • "Property Damage" definition history
  • Data Breach Exclusions - What was added in 2001, 2004 & 2013 form?
  • Mandatory endorsement CG 21 06 effective 5/1/2014
  • New exclusion for 'Personal injury' effective 5/1/2014
  • Finally, changes in the BOP in 2015
