Many companies have great safety and human resource programs and some even include workers' compensation processes.  But when an injury occurs is everyone really ready for what happens next?  Do the employees understand the expectations or process? Do the supervisors understand the expectations or processes? When an injury occurs, the actions taken can have a significant impact on the outcome of the claim for both the employee and the employer.

It's important to understand the value behind setting up a program proactively; understand all the paperwork necessary, and why each step is so important.  Successful workers compensation programs require more than reporting the claim to the insurance carrier or Third Party Administrator; it requires coordinated action by many people within your insured's company.

This course gives you a step-by-step effective process to help you guide your clients through a workers' compensation claim. Many times clients don't understand who is legally allowed to get involved in a workers compensation claim, or the state and federal rules that apply.  Learn what steps could be missing, what steps are required, and what steps can help reduce a workers' compensation claim nightmare for both employees and employers.

Students taking this class will learn how to advise their client's about:

  • Working with a business's safety and human resource departments on program set up
  • What do to prior to an injury occurring
  • What to do during the injury process
  • Discuss return to work options
  • How to close a claim properly
