The foods on grocery store shelves aren't the same as they used to be. There was a day when the ingredient list looked like things you could pull out of a garden, but today, the ingredients lists look more like a science experiment gone wrong.

Ultra processed foods (UPFs) have been processed, preserved, and pumped full of artificial ingredients. Most ingredient lists are longer than you expect and seem to never include anything you recognize. The dangers of UPF include obesity, heart disease, and more.

In this session, risk management students from Eastern Carolina University, led by Dr. Brenda Wells, will discuss the risks and dangers of the food in our cabinets and some ways we can avoid them.
